The WSET Level 1 Award in Spirits is intended for people who have little or no prior knowledge of spirits.

It is designed to provide a sound but simple introduction to spirits, and will assist those who need a basic familiarity with the main styles and categories, for example people who work with spirits in the retail and hospitality sectors. This course include the recommended spirits samples which will be couriered to you.

Successful candidates will be able to list the principal spirits categories, state their defining characteristics, and know the key principles involved in creating a balanced cocktail. You will confidently be able to answer customer queries and provide recommendations for spirits service.

The WSET Level 1 online course runs over 4 weeks that can be studied in your own space, at your own pace.

Your enrolment includes,

• Full online access to course, with an additional 3 Q&A sessions.

• Recording of the teaching session in the event you cannot make the scheduled session. (No recording of Q+A sessions are available).

• WSET certified educator support for the duration of the course (4 weeks)

• Weekly drop in tasting sessions Sundays 2-3pm

• Course book to guide your learnings and support the classes.

• 10 recommended tasting samples for you to taste throughout the course.

• Exam by remote invigilation or by attending an exam at our exam centres.

• This online course requires approximately 6 hours of study.

• Candidates that pass the course will earn the qualification, and receive a certificate and lapel pin.
