The WSET Level 3 Award in Wines is an advanced level qualification for professionals working in the wine and hospitality industry and for individuals seeking to delve deeper into the world of wines, this qualification provides a detailed understanding of grape growing and wine making.
The online course is held over 9 weeks, covering 9 modules guided by a WSET educator. The student can contact the educator any time for the duration of the scheduled course. There is a suggested wine list and wine tasting forum for candidates to post notes and discuss. Each week includes a series of independent activities that guide the student through the key wine regions of the world looking at the factors in the vineyard and winery that influence wine styles. It is recommended to study 10 hours per week for each module.
The examination and tasting day will be held 22nd-23rd June in Christchurch . The tasting day provides a focus on calibrated tasting, where students will come together to calibrate their tasting using the WSET Systematic Approach to tasting. The exam is held in the afternoon of the 23rd June. Upon successful completion you will receive a WSET Global certificate and lapel pin, and will be able to use the associated WSET certified logo.
