The WSET® Level 1 Award in Wines is the perfect introduction to the world of wine, offering a globally recognized qualification from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust. The course runs over 3 weeks with two weekly class drop in sessions, or can be completed with recordings in your own time, at your own pace.

This beginner-friendly course covers the basics of wine types, key grape varieties, and major wine regions. You'll learn how to select and serve wines with confidence and gain essential wine-tasting skills to describe and evaluate wines effectively.

Ideal for those starting a career in wine or hospitality, or simply looking to deepen their appreciation, this course provides a solid foundation to boost both your professional skills and personal enjoyment of wine.

Your enrolment includes,

• Access to our online learning resources, WSET study book, group online class sessions.

• Recordings of course material for any missed sessions (Q+A is not recorded).

• Weekly online course sessions for the duration of the course (3 weeks)

• Exam by remote invigilation with the option of attending an exam at our exams centres.

• This online course requires approximately 6 hours of study. It is advised that students should taste a range of wines during the course.

• Optional: Purchase a tasting pack of 4 recommended wines delivered to your door (NZ only). RRP of tasting pack is $130-150 and changes depending on availability.

Key Dates:

Course Times: Weekly sessions 10am to 11am Monday and Wednesday for duration of course. First class starts on Monday 27th April, and last session on Wednesday 13th May.

Exam: Online, Monday 18th April, 10am (or by arrangement).

Enrolments close: 26th April, 5pm.
