The WSET Level 2 Award in Spirits is suitable for those who wish to broaden their spirits tasting experience and knowledge and leads to an internationally recognised qualification administered by the Wine & Spirits Education Trust.

This is an intermediate level course, successful candidates will understand how raw materials are sourced and fermented. The different distilling equipment and techniques used to create spirits and liqueurs. Also, how post distillation practices can shape the end flavors and textures. You will confidently be able to provide guidance on the use and service of spirits and make informed recommendations to customers when selecting spirits and liqueurs to meet their taste and price requirements. You will also understand how to create and serve balanced cocktails.

This online course runs over 5 weeks. Live classes will allow integration with a WSET certified educator. Content sessions will be recored (Q+A recordings are not available) in the event you cannot make a session. All participants will receive a tasting pack of 30 spirits for tasting throughout the course (Liquor License 60/OFF/99/2022).

The online course includes:

• Access to online classes LIVE or recordings after the teaching sessions.

• A box of 30ml taster bottles of 30 recommended spirits for tasting

• Educator support for 5 weeks from a WSET certified educator, including weekly online drop in sessions.

• The ability to learn in your own time.

• The Remotely Invigilated exam so you can complete the course in your own space or take advantage of attending one of our exam centres.

Course Dates:

June 9, 2-4pm with online Orientation and Calibration Tasting

Monday/Wednesday 5:30-7pm from June 10th until 3rd July.

Final Session: Sunday 7th July 2-3pm. Final session with mock exam and exam briefing.

Exam Date: 7th July online 4pm, or by arrangement. Examination centres are available throughout New Zealand.
